Meet Our Team

The people behind the care

Nurse-owned and family-run is more than a phrase. It’s who we are. These are the faces your family will come to know.

Jessica Smith, RN, BSN, Administrator and Owner of Olive Tree Elderly Homes

Jessica Smith, RN, BSN

Administrator / Owner

Jessica’s passion for senior care began long before it became her career. It began in her heart. From a young age, she spent countless hours at her family’s board and care facility, forming meaningful connections with residents, listening to their stories, and participating in activities that filled the home with warmth and joy. Those early experiences shaped her deep appreciation for the aging community and planted the seeds for a lifelong calling to care for others.

While attending college, Jessica had the opportunity to work at one of her aunt’s care homes, where her passion for senior care truly came to life. What started as a job quickly became a purpose. Through her years as a caregiver, she discovered the profound impact that compassion, patience, and genuine human connection can have on a person’s life.

Driven by her desire to provide the highest level of care possible, Jessica pursued a career in nursing and became a registered nurse. With more than eight years of experience in healthcare, she has developed a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and personal needs of seniors and their families.

For Jessica, caring for seniors is more than a profession. It is a privilege and a mission. Her dream is to create a loving, supportive, and enriching environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and truly at home. She believes every senior deserves to age with dignity, comfort, and joy, surrounded by compassion and genuine care.

Hank Smith, Assistant Administrator and Owner of Olive Tree Elderly Homes

Hank Smith

Hank has always had a heart for serving others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around him. From volunteering as a counselor at children’s cancer camps to participating in overseas mission trips with church groups, he has spent much of his life dedicated to bringing comfort, encouragement, and compassion to people during some of their most vulnerable moments. These experiences helped shape his deep belief that every person deserves to feel valued, supported, and genuinely cared for.

With a strong background in management and customer service, Hank understands that exceptional care goes beyond meeting basic needs. It is about creating an environment where people feel respected, heard, and truly at home. His vision is to build a place where seniors are not only cared for with the highest level of quality and professionalism, but also surrounded by kindness, dignity, and genuine human connection. Hank is deeply committed to providing families with peace of mind and ensuring every resident experiences the comfort, care, and satisfaction they deserve each and every day.

Monica Herrera, Lead Caregiver at Olive Tree Elderly Homes

Monica Herrera

Lead Caregiver

Monica’s passion for caring for others began at an early age while helping care for her brother with special needs. Through those experiences, she developed a deep sense of compassion, patience, and understanding that would later become the foundation of her life’s purpose. After getting married and raising her beautiful children, her love for nurturing and supporting others only continued to grow.

Although caring for people had always been a natural part of who she was, Monica never imagined that it would lead her to a lifelong career in senior care. With more than 30 years of experience serving seniors, she has dedicated her life to providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to those who need it most. Her journey has included roles as a caregiver, lead medical technician, home health professional, and now assistant administrator, with each role strengthening her knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence in care.

In addition to her experience in senior care, Monica owned and operated her own daycare for 20 years, giving her a unique understanding of the importance of family, trust, and creating a safe and loving environment. She understands not only the needs of seniors, but also the concerns and hopes of the families who entrust their loved ones into her care. Monica believes every single person deserves to feel valued, respected, and cared for like family, and she continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around her every single day.
